Saving $73,000: How I Got Full Mouth Implants in Vietnam
Instead of Paying $100K in the USA

All on Four

After putting off expensive dental work for two years, I finally went to Vietnam and got 15 teeth pulled and 9 new implants for $27,000 - way less than the $100,000 my local dentist wanted to charge me.

Two years ago, my local dentist told me it would cost over $100,000 and take 1-2 years to replace my deteriorating teeth. I decided to wait until something critical happened before proceeding. Well, between losing an implant recently, my 36-year-old bridge causing pain (still had nerves in the supporting teeth), loose bottom teeth, and two implants protruding into my right sinus causing frequent nosebleeds, I knew it was finally time to act.

I found a local specialist experienced with implants, but his prices were even higher. That’s when I expanded my search and discovered DentalPassport’s network in Vietnam. Their implant procedure and Dr. Andy’s expertise met all my criteria, so I scheduled my treatment.

Three weeks ago, I flew to Ho Chi Minh City through DentalPassport’s coordination. I had my consultation on Tuesday, surgery on Wednesday, and flew home the following week. While most patients experience minimal discomfort, my extensive work required more recovery time. The surgery itself was completely pain-free due to anesthesia, but I’ve had ongoing aching since then, though it improves daily. Mornings are pain-free, but evenings bring mouth discomfort. The prescription for strong pain medication indicated this wouldn’t be a pain-free process.

The procedure involved extracting 15 teeth and 3 implants, performing a sinus lift and bone graft where previous implants had penetrated my sinus cavity, and placing 9 new implants – 4 on bottom and 5 on top. The rightmost upper implant remains hidden under my gums for 6-12 months depending on healing. I return in 6 months unless complications arise earlier.

I’m following a soft diet for at least three months and chewing only on my left side. My lower bridge has 12 teeth and upper bridge has 10 teeth, with no teeth over the sinus lift area. I’m using a Waterpik multiple times daily but remain too swollen for flossing.

Total cost through DentalPassport was $27,000 – including the complex extractions, sinus lift, bone grafts and a dozen implants. This was less than 30% of what I would have paid domestically for the same comprehensive treatment.
